Yesterday I picked up my Mac Air from the Apple Computer store in the City of La Jolla California. When I turned the Mac on, there was no sound.
Not even a start-up chime!
I just now made another appointment with Apple/La Jolla to correct whatever is wrong.
8:50 am:
Yesterday I worked on several things that will make stuff in Box Van work better:
➜ Made a wood bracket that keeps my stepladder from sliding around.
➜ Fabricated a wood fixture that secures my Unique gas range to the wall frame.
➜ Changed my bed so that I sleep leaning back on a board at an angle. This seems to stop my shoulder pain.
In process items:
➜ Install (2) solar panels that arrived yesterday.
➜ Buy a 5-gallon water bottle that will be my grey water tank.
➜ Provide a quick-disconnect valve for my Wave-3 catalytic heater. For very cold nites, operating the Wave-3 in addition to the Wave-6 may make the temperature more comfortable.
➜ Build a 12 x 24 hinged table at the left side of my bench seat.
➜ From Home Depot, (4) cabinets to be installed on my bed-side wall. (1) Base cabinet. (3) Wall cabinets.

Hi George.
ReplyDeletequick disconnect & propane lines don't go well together. I seem to remember you getting burned. I can't even understand why they are legal.

Ray,
DeleteI disagree. A quick-disconnect valve for a propane line works well.
When I got burned, it was because I used a quick-disconnect valve designed for an air line. Not the same product! My mistake!

Interesting I don't remember your blogging about airl line quick disconnect
DeleteBut I do remember something that was said about that being the wrong type
Shoulder pain,,,, your beds too Thin,, Foam pad, add three more inches
And test the theory
I have used a quick disconnect for my Wave 3 for over 10 years. I assume you are using the propane one that has the shutoff valve built in to it.

Water weighs 8lb per gallon. If you are capable of lifting/handling up to 40lbs with your bad shoulder, go for it. You might also wish to consider a 3 gallon container!
Steve,
DeleteI am buying a 5-gallon water bottle [Instead of a 3-gallon] for the diameter of the spout. My sink drain goes into a 5-gallon bottle's spout.
Nothing prevents me from emptying a 5-gsllon bottle when there is less than 5-gallons grey water inside.

Reboot your mac, mine sometimes won't play either.
ReplyDeleteBob,
DeleteMy Mac has a major sound failure. Not even the opening chime that comes with startup works.

ReplyDeleteIf a 5 gal. container suits your purpose I can understand. Perhaps you are more diligent at attending to necessary chores than I would be.
I switched from 5gal to 3gal containers when I could no longer handle the weight of carrying fresh water from a remote source. ;-)
Steve,
DeleteActually, my current thinking is that my sink's drain should flow to the ground. Not be contained in a water bottle.
I hardly use any water doing my dishes!

Hi George,
DeleteI agree with sink water going to the ground, but you know as well as I do if certain people ever see this happening they will have you in front of a firing squad. you will be apprehended & cuffed by the local E P A swat team, yes they are armed, put in cuffs and "perp walked" for all the world to see. you will be shamed world wide for violating the proper storage and disposal of grey water. shame on you George.

George, look at the left side of your iPhone. There is a tiny switch to turn the sound on.
ReplyDeleteHi Rita,
DeleteThe No Sound problem is with my Mac Air computer.
My iPhone's sound is working fine [Knock on wood].

Shutting down the Mac and rebooting while pressing apple-shift-p-r keys simultaneously to reset the PRAM might help.
ReplyDeleteI know I will be called a hater. But ditch the apple..
